#2 Developing my enterprise idea - Name and Mission Statement

We're back, and with a solid finalised enterprise idea.

From my blog post #1 where I explored different pathways to follow for my enterprise idea, I have decided to go with an online magazine platform, due to this being where my skills lay in online content, social media and development.

My online platform is going to mainly target my hometown, Milton Keynes, for young people between the ages of 16 to 25. I wanted to appeal to a younger audience as I feel there is a gap in the market for news platforms targeting this age range. In my next blog post, I will be conducting primary and secondary research to back this up.

The name of my online platform is...

INSYNC-MK

I decided on this name because I want the younger generation that I'm targeting to feel as if they are 'in sync' with the latest news and events going on in the town. I feel it sounds young, catchy and modern, which is the style I want the online magazine to reflect. This style will be shown through my language and the topics and content included in my magazine, which will be a broad range of content including lifestyle, fashion and beauty, entertainment, music etc.

I will also be strongly engaging with my audience through social media platforms, where I will utilize Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to appeal to a savvy young audience who are constantly on social media. Here I will be posting any updates from the website, including new content and also getting the audience involved with my content.

Milton Keynes is a growing town, especially with the younger generation who are evolving with the developments, so this is a perfect age range to target. This is because the main news platforms include MK Citizen and MKFM, who report general news, mainly targeting 25+, so the younger ages are missed out. I feel as if my enterprise idea meets my audience/clients needs because there is a clear gap in the market for a young news platform in the town, which will be shown in my next post when I conduct research and look at my competitors.

Mission Statement

"An online platform to keep the youth of Milton Keynes in sync with the latest news and events"

In my next few blog posts, I hope to show the development of INSYNC-MK more with the following:

- Market research

- Business Plan

- Customer segments

- INSYNC-MK Values

- Future steps
